Since 2015, Freedom Law Clinic has redefined legal education. We began with a simple mission: to use legal education as a force for social good. By partnering with over 40 universities and law schools across the UK, we’ve empowered students to work on real-life criminal appeal cases alongside academic study.

With the launch of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), we saw the perfect opportunity to take our model even further. In 2022, we launched a trailblazing programme that combines SQE preparation with Qualifying Work Experience (QWE)—allowing students to qualify with real-world insight, confidence, and competence.

What Makes Our SQE Programme Unique?

Unlike traditional law schools, FLC blends academic rigor with practical legal training. Our programme isn’t just about passing exams—it’s about becoming a solicitor who can make an immediate impact.

Here’s what you can expect:

🔹 Weekly SQE1 & SQE2 Teaching

Enjoy five hours of weekly sessions, designed for in-depth preparation for both SQE1 and SQE2 exams. All sessions are held outside of office hours, so you can balance study and other responsibilities.

🔹 Full-Time Clinical Legal Work

Gain a minimum of nine months’ QWE from the outset. You’ll work on active case files, supporting vulnerable clients on issues such as housing, welfare rights, domestic violence, and public law.

🔹 Specialist Legal Modules

Deepen your expertise through targeted modules in:

• Complex Criminal Appeals
• Domestic Violence
• Public Law and Civil Liberties
• Welfare and Housing
• Fitness to Practise
