SQE2 focuses on assessing candidates' practical legal skills. At FLC we conduct comprehensive online seminars that put students' practical skills to the test in various areas, including advocacy, case analysis, legal drafting, and taking instructions.

Our online seminars are led by qualified lawyers with extensive experience in the legal profession. During these sessions, students engage in simulated exercises that mirror real-life legal scenarios. For example:

Advocacy: Students participate in mock court proceedings where they present legal arguments and representations before a panel, simulating the environment of an actual courtroom.

Case Analysis: Students are presented with complex legal cases, which they analyze, evaluate, and provide practical solutions for. This exercise hones their ability to critically assess legal issues and devise appropriate strategies.

Legal Drafting: Students are tasked with preparing legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, or agreements, based on specific fact patterns. This exercise enhances their drafting skills and attention to detail.

Taking Instructions: Students interact with actors portraying clients, gathering instructions and information to advise on legal matters. This simulation helps them refine their communication and client-handling skills.

Our seminars are structured in accordance with the Statement of Solicitor Competence, ensuring that students are assessed on the key competencies required for practice as a qualified solicitor. Through these immersive exercises, students gain practical experience and confidence in applying their legal knowledge to real-life situations.

Our qualified solicitors closely monitor students' progress throughout the seminars and provide individualised guidance on their readiness for the SQE2 examination. As students approach the examination date, they receive bespoke support, addressing any concerns or areas that require further refinement.
