WELFARE
The FLC works with local communities to deliver advice on welfare and housing issues. Our local clinics serve our communities by providing access to legal advice to those who cannot access legal aid. Our students interact directly with members of the public under the supervision of a solicitor. This invaluable face to face experience allows the student to develop their key competencies while giving an invaluable service.
Our students have been involved with:
(a) Assisting vulnerable women in seeking alternative housing solutions from their local council.
(b) Advising on potential solutions to cost of living issues.
(c) Advising on welfare appeals and access to educational funding.
