Join Us for Our First Open Day: A New Approach to SQE1 and Qualifying Work Experience

By Freedom Law Clinic | uncategorised | Published on May 20, 2024

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural open day for our unique SQE1 and QWE combination course, taking place on the 23rd of May. This free event offers a full day of immersive online SQE1 instruction, complete with sample learning materials and additional readings tailored to each session. The open day also includes a comprehensive Q&A on how our SQE1 preparation works and the integration of Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) into your training.

Embrace Active Learning with Us

One of the highlights of our course is our active learning approach. We firmly believe that the best way to learn law is by applying it. Active learning at the Freedom Law Clinic involves a dynamic process where principles from the assessment specification are continuously drilled. This isn’t just about rote learning through multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Instead, we place a strong emphasis on client-based scenarios designed to test your judgment and application of legal knowledge to real-world facts.

During the open day, you’ll get a firsthand experience of our active learning techniques. This approach ensures that you’re not just memorizing information but actually understanding and applying the law, which is crucial for success in the SQE1 exams.

Discover the Power of Community Learning

While many SQE1 preparation courses focus on independent, remote learning, we take a different approach. At the Freedom Law Clinic, we believe in the power of communal learning. Our classroom settings foster group understanding, which we have found to be highly effective for SQE1 preparation.

Students start their journey by engaging with written materials and recorded lectures through our Learning Management System. Over the first 12 weeks of our course, they then come together for five hours each week to apply their learning in a variety of scenarios. This collaborative environment not only enhances understanding but also builds a supportive community of learners who can rely on each other throughout the preparation process.

Structured Revision Timetable

As the exam date approaches, our students transition to a structured revision timetable. This phase focuses on intensive MCQ drilling in small groups, using these questions as a foundation for revision. We teach specific techniques for answering the unique question styles found in the SQE1 exams, emphasizing why traditional learning methods may not be effective for these assessments.

Our revision sessions are designed to ensure that students are thoroughly prepared and confident in their ability to tackle the exam questions. By understanding the intricacies of SQE1 questions, students can develop strategies that enhance their performance.

Continuous Review and Support

Our commitment to your success doesn’t stop at providing quality materials and structured learning. We offer continuous review and support from our experienced tutors. As a student, you will receive regular progress reports, helping you track your knowledge development and identify areas for improvement.

When we believe you are ready to sit the exam, our tutors will issue a certificate of readiness. This means you’ll never face the pressure of taking the exam prematurely. Our goal is to ensure that you are fully prepared and confident when the time comes to take the SQE1.

Meet Our Expert Tutors

Our tutors are not only experienced practitioners but also skilled educators. You can learn more about their backgrounds and expertise on our Team page. Additionally, our website offers access to a wealth of revision materials and practice papers, providing you with all the resources you need to succeed.
