One of the standout features of our SQE2 preparation course is the inclusion of a legal clinic where students work on real cases.
This hands-on experience is invaluable, allowing you to apply the legal knowledge you’ve gained in class to real-world situations. For example, our students are currently involved in reviewing a murder conviction with a view to making an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC). This complex case involves intricate evidence such as cell site data, messaging records, and psychiatric evaluations. Working on such cases helps students develop a deep understanding of how to analyze and present evidence—skills that are essential for passing the SQE2.
In another case, our students are assisting a client who has been issued a confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 following a criminal conviction for fraud. They are helping the client navigate the complexities of adjusting the order to reflect their changed circumstances. This experience not only prepares students for the financial crime aspect of the SQE2 but also teaches them how to manage client expectations and provide clear, actionable advice.
